NCGA was founded in 1997 as a private, non-profit corporation through the Training, Certification and Technical Assistance Project, the Arc of North Carolina's LIFEguardianship . The development of NCGA was facilitated by consumers, family-member guardians, volunteers, public and private agency personnel, attorneys, and Clerks of Superior Court.
After much consideration, the NC Guardianship Association has decided to discontinue their Certification Program.
There are other programs and certifications available. Additionally consider certification or education in diagnostic areas that would benefit the individual you represent.
Membership is the gateway to involvement in the North Carolina Guardianship Association (NCGA), but is not required to attend any of the educational functions offered by NCGA.
